Shivaji Jayanti is the anniversary of the birth of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the great Maratha ruler. In the entire state of Maharashtra, Shivaji Jayanti is celebrated every year on February 19 with much pomp and fervor.


Shivaji Maharaj was born in the Shivneri Fort in Pune(then Poona) on February 19, 1630. In the state of Maharashtra, Shivaji Jayanti is celebrated on a Gigantic scale. Shivaji Maharaj is considered to be the greatest Maratha ruler who carved out an empire that became the beginning of the Maratha Empire from the collapsing Adilshahi sultanate of Bijapur.



Different activities like singing of Powadas(Ballads) and narration of historical events are conducted in schools on the occasion of Shivaji Jayanti in order to raise awareness in the young minds of children about the brave Maratha warrior. They teach them about how to help themselves stand up for themselves, as well as carve discipline into their young minds. Young learners are also celebrating Shivaji Mahraj's Glorious Conquests.



Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's birth anniversary is celebrated on 18 February by students and teachers from various schools and educational organizations. By arranging diverse cultural programs, they do so with much enthusiasm. Students also execute an incident from the immersive life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on this occasion. But Due to the Pandemic This Time, The Schools are shut. But The Spirit of Shiv Jayanti is Still alive via media like virtual gtherings and Rallies with Safety Precautions.
